LONDON — Laurel County native Ronnie Deaton recently released his 11th book, The Ghost Bride of Cumberland Falls , last month.
His daughter proposed the idea to him for his latest tome. Deaton, 79, has a particular interest in writing novels tied to Appalachian folklore — a passion he began pursuing in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. His newest book centers on the legend of the Ghost Bride at Cumberland Falls, a story that has long-circulated in the area about a woman in a wedding gown said to appear near the falls and its famous moonbow.
