WAUSAU − The 79th Alice in Dairyland finals are scheduled for May 14-16, 2026, in Marathon County, according to a community announcement.
Alice in Dairyland is a communications professional who educates the public about Wisconsin agriculture. Each May, a new Alice is selected through an extensive public job interview process, with a different county hosting the finals each year.
Marathon County, known for its rich history and diverse agriculture industry, is an ideal destination for the event. The county has over 2,200 farms, 97% of which are family-owned, according to the University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension. Agriculture provides more than 11,000 jobs and $2.8 billion in economic activity annually, with ginseng, dairy and maple syrup as leading products.
