PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect after a woman was seriously hurt during a violent sexual assault last month.

The department’s Adult Sex Crimes Unit is investigating the assault that happened early in the morning on Thursday, Aug. 14, near 44th Street and Oak Street , between Thomas and McDowell roads. A woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and is still recovering.

Investigators held a news conference on Friday morning to provide information on the case, hoping to generate new leads that result in an arrest.
