CHARLESTON (WV News) — The West Virginia First Foundation’s next grant cycle will open Sept. 22, according to a release.
The foundation will distribute up to $19.2 million to nonprofit organizations through its Momentum Initiative Grant round.
The foundation launched its Initial Opportunity Grants program in October 2024 and received 174 applications from organizations across the state. Nearly $10.4 million was awarded in December, followed by an additional $6.21 million through a supplemental round — for a total of about $17 million.
While the first grant round was tied to the six regions the foundation uses to divide the state, the Momentum Initiative Grant round will be structured differently.
