CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The nation’s premier talent attraction and retention program, Ascend West Virginia, announced its addition of the Charleston Area community to the program today.

The program founded by West Virginia native Brad D. Smith and his wife Alys, Ascend WV offers new community members to the state’s capital city with more than $20,000 in incentives, according to the program.

Ascend members have an average annual individual income exceeding $97,000, the program said.

The program said each participant in the program relocates to West Virginia with an average of 1.9 accompanying individuals.
