OKLAHOMA/NEW MEXICO (KAMR/KCIT) – Area airports in Oklahoma and New Mexico are set to receive Airport Improvement Program grants.

According to the press release from the Federal Aviation Adminstration, the AIP airport grant program funds airport infrastructure projects such as runways, taxiways, airport signage, airport lighting, and airport markings. The release states that airports are entitled to a certain amount of AIP funding each year based on passenger volume, and if their capital project needs exceed their available funds, then the FAA can supplement their entitlements with discretionary funding.
