The Detroit Lions pride themselves on having a plethora of playmakers on the field at all times, boasting one of the best rosters of offensive talent in the NFL.

But it’s veteran quarterback Jared Goff who makes the whole machine run at the high level that’s become expected in Detroit the past few seasons.

With the Lions’ 2025 season beginning against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Packers’ coach Matt LaFleur — a former Western Michigan and Saginaw Valley State quarterback in his own right — has his eyes keyed in on Goff and his impressive play.

“I think he’s played at a really high level, really the course of his career,” LaFleur said Friday. “But especially these last couple years, I think it’s been elite.”
