BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A Staten Island man accused of killing two pedestrians while driving intoxicated in Sunset Park was arraigned in court, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced Friday.
Juventino Anastacio Florentino, 23, was indicted for murder, manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, among other charges, prosecutors announced.
Prosecutors say around 4:22 a.m. on July 11, Florentino drove through a red light at 52nd Street and hit two men in the crosswalk. He then allegedly fled the scene of the crash.
The victims, identified as Kexun Chen, 80, and Faqiu Lin, 59, died.
Florentino was arrested later that morning at his home on Staten Island. Officials say Florentino showed signs of intoxication, and testing showed his blood alcohol content was between 0.13 and 0
