MORTON ( 25News Now ) - The Morton Police Department said a threat that was investigated at Jefferson Elementary School was determined “not to be credible.”

Police and school administrators investigated the threat on Aug. 29, once they became aware of it after school.

That day, a juvenile student reportedly made a statement about bringing a firearm to the school on the next school day, Sept. 2.

Police and administrators interviewed several students and their parents/guardians. Police said the threat was determined not to be credible and the juvenile accused of making the threat had no access to firearms at any time, and at no time was anyone in danger.
