OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Three weeks after First Alert 6 was provided with tentative completion dates for unfinished priority projects at two new Elkhorn elementary schools, the district said the timeline is “largely on track.”
While Mayor John Ewing said in his Aug. 14 news conference that he was satisfied fire codes had been addressed at both schools, one of the top concerns for officials was the completion of the fire panels. Elkhorn Public Schools targeted Friday, Sept. 5, as the deadline for that project.
“EPS is happy to report that progress on the published tentative timeline is largely on track,” an EPS spokesperson said in an email to First Alert 6. “Notably, the fire panels are operational at both schools. Weather permitting, landscaping and sod will be near completion next w
