LUBBOCK, Texas -- After an exciting opening week, its time for more high school football around the South Plains. Here are some of the matchups to keep an eye on this week.

Thursday night:

The Monterey Plainsmen headline Thursday at 7 p.m. against Abilene Wylie and hope to redeem themselves after the 44-23 loss against Choctaw last week.

The Kingdom Prep Academy Warriors welcome Anton, with each seeking their first win of 2025. Last week, the Bulldogs were beaten 46-18 by Christ the King while KPA had their game with Amherst postponed.

Friday night:

After their first week loss in Abilene to Byron Nelson, Frenship is heading to Wichita Falls for a 7 p.m. matchup with Memorial. The Mavericks defeated W
