LOS ANGELES – In the hours and days before kickoff, before the first bull rush and speed moves of a strong opponent, the Texans’ overhauled offensive line was already in scramble mode.

After kickoff of the season-opener against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium, the scrambling continued as personnel changes triggered by injuries contributed to quarterback C.J. Stroud running a lot under heavy duress in the pocket.

Stroud was pressured on 42.1 percent of his dropbacks during a 14-9 defeat at SoFi Stadium, according to NextGen Stats. He was sacked three times, one of which was on him for rolling directly into the arms of Rams defensive lineman Tyler Davis. Another sack came on an overload on a blitz by safety Leland McCullough.
