Threats of violence directed at two schools in Lakeville on Thursday have resulted in the arrest of a boy in Elk River.
According to Lakeville PD, the threats were directed towards Lakeville South High School and McGuire Middle School, which are within two miles of each other, both located between 210th and 215th streets.
Police were made aware of the threats around 5 p.m., saying in a press release that multiple reports of the threat, which was posted on social media, were submitted to the Lakeville Area Schools reporting system.
Police identified the boy, whose age hasn't been disclosed, as the suspect. Lakeville detectives then worked with Elk River Police Department, whose officers arrested the boy at his home just before 9 p.m. He is now being held at the Dakota County Juvenile Det
