Girl, 11, airlifted with severe injuries after being struck by pickup driver

An 11-year-old girl suffered severe injuries when she was struck by a pickup truck driver while she was riding her bike in Wrenshall, Minnesota.

The girl was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis following the collision near the intersection of Broadway Street and Crestwood Drive at 5:10 p.m. Friday.

An off-duty Cloquet PD officer was on the scene and began providing aid to the girl and called dispatch for help. Investigators learned the girl had been riding her bike on Broadway "when she was struck while riding in the roadway."

"The crash victim was transported to Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis for additional care via Life Link III out of Duluth due to her severe injuries," the Carlton County Sheriff's Office said.
