The Warren County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Front Royal man who deputies say planned to kill two local residents.

Michael Dewayne Massie II, 33, of Front Royal, is in custody at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail and charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release issued Friday. Massey remains held without bond.

Massey is scheduled to appear in Warren County General District Court on Tuesday.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 9 in reference to a welfare check. Massey was taken into custody during the investigation.
