MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Parents at a Memphis elementary school are on alert after Memphis-Shelby County Schools confirmed several cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD). The district said "several" students at Sherwood Elementary tested positive for the illness, which doctors across the Mid-South told FOX13 last week is already on the rise as students return to classrooms and daycare. Parents said the district notified them by email. "I was kind of scared at first, but I just make sure he keeps hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes with him," said Tamia Watson, whose child attends Sherwood Elementary.
