ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Staff at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center laced up their shoes to show support for veterans that are fighting a different type of battle.
On Friday, the hospital held a suicide prevention walk, to call awareness to veteran suicide and to the resources available to help prevent it.
"You're not alone," is a message the staff at the hospital hope will resonate with veterans battling depression and suicidal thoughts. According to the VA, it's a battle around 17 veterans lose each day. It's why they shined a light on the resources that are here to help, even at a moment's notice.
"We have an urgent care clinic that is open 24/7. So if our veterans are feeling like they're having a suicidal crisis or even just need help with their mental health or even medical is
