LUBBOCK, Texas -- The City of Lubbock held ribbon cuttings Friday that officially opened two road projects for people to drive on. One of the roads opened was 146th Street Quaker to Indiana, while the other one was 98th Street Alcove to Upland.

The chair of the Lubbock Citizens Advisory Committee, Heather Keister explained their role in finishing the roads.

"I led the committee where we looked at what all the needs were, we worked with the engineering staff and the public work staff to identify where are they having safety concerns," Keister said.

This construction was a part of the $200 million 2022 road bond. City Councilman Brayden Rose expressed his appreciation for citizens voting on the 2022 bond.
