LOCUST GROVE, Ga. — For Jodi Heyen, the past 24 hours have been unbearable. She said her 26-year-old daughter, Jazzlyn Phillips, died in a fire set by her boyfriend , in Locust Grove on Thursday morning. The tragedy also claimed the life of her unborn child, leaving Phillips’ 1-year-old daughter without a mother.

“I’m just lost right now. I’m completely lost without her,” Heyen said. “It’s just unreal to not have that call. To not have her to be able to call just when I’m upset about something. She was the one I would call.”

Heyen described her daughter as someone who lived for motherhood. She was eight months pregnant.
