Northeast School of Dance has announced the retirement of its founder, Beth Schiebel , ending a 56-year legacy that began when she opened the studio in 1969. What started as a neighborhood program grew into “one of Fort Wayne’s most enduring arts institutions, guiding thousands of students and helping launch alumni to collegiate programs, professional stages, and award-winning youth ensembles,” a news release said. A retirement celebration honoring Schiebel will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Northeast School of Dance, 6728 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne. Community members, former students, and families are invited to attend. RSVP details are available via the studio’s Facebook page or by calling the studio at 260-493-2804.
