Severe weather could wash away Sept. 6 night plans in northern Delaware.
The National Weather Service says there is a slight risk of severe weather north of the canal ahead of an approaching cold front in the afternoon and evening of Sept. 6. Heavy rain and damaging wind gusts will be the main threats. Flash flooding in urban areas is possible.
Rain chances in Wilmington start at 1 p.m. and linger through the next morning. The best shot at rain is between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., with lightning expected with these storms.
It will be the same story in Dover, with less chance of severe weather. If you're still trying to soak up summer at the beaches, the rain could move in around 7 p.m. and linger through the morning. WEATHER: Hurricane forecasters rapidly adjust outlook for distant system
