Holiday Man Struck by Vehicle While Attempting to Cross Busy Highway

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old Holiday man was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross US-19. The incident occurred at approximately 9:27 PM at the intersection of Dolly Bay Drive.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a BMW 530I, driven by a 28-year-old Port Richey man, was traveling northbound on US-19. The pedestrian reportedly entered the path of the oncoming vehicle as he attempted to walk westbound across the highway.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the BMW was not injured.
