The Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 will host its 78th blood drive from noon to 5:45 p.m. Sept. 15. The event will take place at the lodge, 3292 Beach Road, Port Huron Township, according to a community announcement.

Since the first drive on Jan. 7, 2013, the Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 and the American Red Cross have collected more than 2,639 units of blood, equivalent to 330 gallons. The next goal is to reach 3,000 pints, or 375 gallons.
