Alabama State football will hit the road for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this week, marking the first time since 2016 that the Hornets have had consecutive road games to open the season.
Despite dropping its season opener to UAB, the momentum is high in the Alabama State locker room as it prepares to face the favorites to win the West Division in Southern University (6 p.m. CT, ESPN+).
It'll be the 44th meeting between the two, with Southern holding 30-13 record over Alabama State. Andrew Body and the offense will be on a mission to grab the Hornets' first win over one of the SWAC's premier opponents, earning the right to say they're conference contenders.
