ROGERS, Ark. — A Rogers Public Schools (RPS) building sustained damage in a Saturday morning fire, according to district leaders.

RPS Superintendent Jeff Perry told 5NEWS Sept. 6 the fire began around 10 a.m. in an office on the west side of the building. Crews contained the fire to two rooms, but extensive smoke damage was reported throughout the building.

The administration building was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Perry said district staff were not able to enter the building themselves to assess damage. The cause of the fire is still unknown and will be investigated.

District leadership will be relocated to a recently vacated adjacent building for the time being. Administration support staff will work from home.
