LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — It was the game that so many thought would never happen. After decades of chatter off the field, Arkansas and Arkansas State finally got to settle things on the field.
Specifically, War Memorial Stadium, as the northwest and northeast corners of the state converged in the middle. After all the buildup, you'd be forgiven for forgetting there was a football game to play, but the Hogs sure didn't.
After the opening kickoff, it took Arkansas two plays to go 75 yards for the game's first score. Arkansas State punted, and the Hogs went right back to work, an 80-yard scoring drive.
