NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Tuesday will mark three months since federal Immigration Customs Enforcement agents arrested around 80 workers at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha.

More than half of them were transported and processed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

The operation is part of President Donald Trump’s effort to keep good on his campaign promise to crack down on illegal immigration.

As operations continue nationwide and across the state, many who are detained are now sitting in limbo as they navigate their status to remain in the United States.

“Some of these people just need a little bit of help to get their paperwork straightened out so that they can be out and be productive again, that’s all they want,” said Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer.
