CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A Hazel, Kentucky man is facing multiple felony charges after an incident early Friday morning.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Killdeer Trail in Hazel at around 4 a.m. on September 5 for a fight involving two men.

The deputies learned that after the fight, 31-year-old Jose Trinidad Avila took an axe and damaged the front door of the home, a vehicle on the property and other items.

They also discovered that Avila had taken a large sum of money.

Avila was later arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility for theft by unlawful taking more than $1,000 but less than $10,000, first-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault.
