COLFAX, Wash. – Whitman County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash involving a passenger truck and a motorcycle at the intersection of Poplar and Washington Street in Tekoa.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. this morning when a Rosalia 20-year-old tried to pass a turning passenger truck in the intersection.

The motorcyclist hit the car and flew off their bike.

They were seriously injured and were airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane using Life Flight.

The occupants of the passenger truck also suffered minor injuries.

The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash and has determined that speed and unsafe passing caused the crash.
