South Carolina Man Sentenced for Mail Fraud Conspiracy
A former U.S. Postal Service mail handler from Sumter, Vincent Anthony Gailliard Jr., 41, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for his role in a scheme to commit wire fraud. Gailliard, who worked at the USPS Processing and Distribution Center in Columbia, was found guilty of stealing mail and selling sensitive banking information online to be used for creating fraudulent checks.
According to evidence presented in the case, between April 2022 and May 2023, Gailliard exploited his position by stealing mail containing bank checks.
