Police are investigating a “serious police incident” at a home in Langley Saturday afternoon, the RCMP said just after 3:30 p.m.

Mounties say the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT) has been called in to assist with the investigation at the residence, which is located on 208th Street near 71st Avenue.

Sgt. Zynal Sharoom says the area will remain closed while police investigate. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Callers to 1130 NewsRadio report seeing a large police presence around the home.
