A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in an Abbotsford parking lot Saturday night, the AbbyPD says.

Police were called to Nightingale Drive near Blueridge Drive just before 11 p.m. after witnesses said they heard shots and two vehicles driving away.

“Upon arrival, officers located evidence consistent with a shooting in a nearby parking lot,” AbbyPD said.

Soon afterward, patrol officers found a vehicle on Downes Road near Mount Lehman Road.

Police then found the injured man a short distance away.

“While detectives are still working to determine the motive, early indications suggest this was a targeted incident,” police said.

“Investigators believe the two scenes are connected.”
