Two boys, aged 12 and 15, were fatally stabbed in what authorities are treating as a targeted attack in Cobblebank, a suburb in Melbourne's outer west. Emergency services responded to reports of a serious injury on Marble Drive just before 8 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found a 12-year-old boy suffering from critical injuries. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, police discovered a 15-year-old boy nearby on Cobble Street, also with serious injuries. Emergency personnel attempted to provide medical assistance, but he too succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the incident and believe the two deaths are connected. "The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are still being determined but are believed to be connected," police stated. They have established two crime scenes within 200 meters of each other as part of their investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to reach out to Crime Stoppers. The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover more details about the events leading up to the stabbings.
