BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Celebrating its second year, the Healthy Hero Hustle 5K aims to raise awareness about different community organizations in Buckhannon.

The event is sponsored by West Virginia Wesleyan College and WVU Medicine and St. Joseph's Hospital and raises money for student nurses at Wesleyan. Students and participants of the 5k were invited to attend a health fair after the race, which had vendors such as the Tanning Hut, WVU Medicine, Peak Health and Mountain Cap Family Resource Center.

Students were able providing opportunities for face paintings and sold Zul's lemonade for a post-race treat.

Destiny Brady, an organizer of the race, spoke with 12 News about the need for sharing the resources that the community has to offer.
