SGT. BLUFF, Iowa (KTIV) - Partners for Patriots, an organization that provides service animals to veterans, held its first Poker Run Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 6.

The event kicked off at 12:30 p.m. at 52 Pub in Sergeant Bluff and made several stops throughout the area.

Participants came out with motorcycles, side-by-sides, and classic cars.

Toni Heisler, the event organizer, says the work the group does makes a big impact on the lives of veterans.

“It seems to be very difficult for our puppy raisers to give back the dogs when they’re a year old, but until you see how they change the lives of the veterans, whether it be for PTSD, whether they need a dog that can help them pick up, grab things off the shelf, help them stand, balance-dogs, everything,” said Heisler.
