A 23-year-old man was killed and another man was critically injured in a solo vehicle crash in Fountain Valley, authorities said Saturday.

The crash occurred about 10:55 p.m. Friday near Brookhurst Street and Edinger Avenue, according to Fountain Valley Police Department Sgt. Jennifer Pratt.

Arriving officers found driver Henry GarciaCorrea of Santa Ana dead at the scene, Pratt said. His passenger was taken by ambulance to a trauma center where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that drugs may have been a contributing factor in this collision,” the sergeant said. “The exact cause remains under investigation by the Fountain Valley Police Department’s Traffic Bureau.”
