Hugh Freeze used one word to describe his Auburn Tigers’ passing game Saturday night against Ball State at Jordan-Hare Stadium: Solid.

Freeze’s Tigers led Ball State 21-0 at half and held their opponents to just 34 total yards though two quarters.

“Didn’t protect as well a couple of time, but I thought it was solid,” Freeze told ESPNU at halftime.

“RPOs are good when we’re calling runs. We’re really throwing it, and they are playing really soft coverage. It was a solid half. I’d like to see us clean up a few things, but, defensively, I thought we got after them pretty good, too.

“Pleased but would really like to see us play a good third quarter.”

Jackson Arnold finished the first half 15 of 18 for 155 yards and two touchdowns as Auburn tallied 210 total yards in the first half.
