HORNELL, N.Y. (WENY) -- People gathered in Hornell on Saturday for the 20th Anniversary of the Hornell Erie Railroad Depot Museum.

Organizers say they hosted the event to help spread the word and encourage people to come and visit. The museum features a collection of railroad memorabilia on display, accompanied by model trains in operation. Norfolk Southern Freight Trains also pass by the museum.

The Erie Railroad played a significant role in the development of the Hornell area. The first train arrived in Hornell in 1851.

"Most of the people in this area, Hornell, in the area around Hornell, have some tie to the railroad, if they've lived in this area long, they have relatives that have worked for the railroads, neighbors, and things like that," said Stanley Hall, the president of the
