BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A singer-songwriter from Daphne finds himself among the biggest stars in music this weekend.

Zach Hood is living the life, traveling the country, and singing songs he's written for crowds of people. A few weeks ago, he got some pretty big news.

"I was nominated for a VMA in the category Video for Good," Hood recalled. "It still doesn't feel real."

The music video for his song "Sleepwalking" earned him the nomination, putting him up against artists like Charli XCX, Eminem, Selena Gomez, and Doechii.

"It's surreal, genuinely, because like I said, when I was a kid, I used to just watch these videos of people at the VMAs, the Grammys, all that stuff," Hood said. "It just seemed so out of reach."
