AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Fire Department reports crews are working a large structure fire Saturday night in the 4100 block of South Washington Street. According to officials, Washington Street is blocked in the area, and authorities are asking residents to avoid it.

AFD said crews were dispatched at around 9:26 p.m. on Sept. 6 and arrived on scene within two minutes to find heavy smoke coming from the building. Amarillo Fire Department stated that six units are currently on scene, and crews are fighting the fire defensively.

The release added that no injuries or deaths have been reported from this incident, and the Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene.

Amarillo Fire officials said the operation will be lengthy and more information will be provided when available.
