ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Honoring and supporting, that’s the mission behind Legacy of Patriots, a local organization created to uplift military families grieving the loss of a loved one.

On Saturday, the group hosted the Miles of Memories 5K, an event dedicated to remembering service members who lost their lives too soon.

For Sarah Allman, the event is deeply personal. She spoke about her late husband, Andrew, who served both active duty and in the reserves.

“Oh, Andrew was an amazing man,” Sarah said. “He loved serving his country, loved his family, loved God.”

Allman started Legacy of Patriots after Andrew’s passing to help families navigate grief .
