ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A St. Louis man was charged on Sunday with first-degree murder for his roommate’s death.

According to court records, Marvin Byrd, 54, was charged for shooting and killing his roommate after they both went to watch a college football game in a small gathering.

Byrd became agitated with his roommate over a lack of contribution of household items and drugs.

Byrd shot his roommate on the street and waited for officers to arrive to the scene.

When arrested, Byrd said his roommate was being verbally “reckless” and this had been “an accident”.

Byrd said it was the result of a long build-up of frustration against his roommate.

The roommate’s name has not been released.
