ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The Delmar Maker District is still cleaning up following the May 16 tornado. Many businesses there are struggling to rebound.
On Saturday, local artists painted messages of hope and inspiration to help lift the community up during the recovery.
A number of large boards were painted and are now on display throughout the district. Each painting follows a theme of hope, renewal and strength.
Businesses in the district have spent the last few weeks collecting supplies and donations to make the event happen, bringing color back to the district.
