Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti was quick to respond to the daily newspaper’s splash on Wednesday depicting the Labor Cabinet, including Premier Roger Cook, as the famously bogan characters from hit TV show Kath And Kim.
It came off the back of former premier Brian Burke claiming that pre-polling in the State election showed a lack of support for Labor from a group described as the “bogan vote”.
He said it fuelled Labor’s plans for a $217 million amphitheatre and race track in Burswood, rugby league and combat sports.
Mr Burke said Ms Saffioti was put in charge of winning them over with “bread and circuses”.
