A Toronto woman who was found injured inside a vehicle near High Park early Friday evening and later died in hospital has been identified as 21-year-old Serenity Brown, police said on Saturday.

Around 5:50 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a “medical call” in the Glenlake Avenue and High Park Avenue area. A woman was located with injuries inside a car. She was transported to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

On Friday, a duty inspector near the scene told reporters the victim was seen “having an interaction with a male and that male was seen leaving the area.” The Toronto police news release made no mention of a suspect.

The 21-year-old woman is the city’s 30th homicide victim of 2025.
