VALPARAISO, Ind. (WLS) -- Crews are working to clean up a freight train derailment that happened late Saturday night in northwest Indiana.

Chopper 7 was over the scene at the Fort Wayne to Chicago railroad crossing in Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt in the derailment, and all the train cars involved were empty.

There are still street closures on Axe Avenue and Greenwich Street.

Several other streets opened back up around 3 p.m. Sunday.

The police department said there is no threat to public safety, and it is hoping that all streets will reopen later Sunday evening.
