GOSHEN – Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta has called out a local activist for risking the safety of his deputies by posting flyers on social media, alleging that they are conducting operations with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

According to Arteta, Ignacio Acevedo, who represents the organization Community Voices Heard, has followed his deputies in Newburgh. He later posts the interactions on Facebook. Arteta said that his office has not conducted any operations in the field with ICE and that Acevedo is not only jeopardizing the safety of law enforcement, but the safety of the public as well.
