A British tourist has been rushed to hospital after three young holidaymakers were ploughed into by a car outside a popular resort in Ibiza .

The three victims, all believed to be young women, were struck by a jeep on Calle Moli, in front of the On the Bay restaurant at the Playa des Pouet resort in Ibiza, Spain . Shocked eyewitnesses said the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon left the road and careered onto the pavement, running over the three young women and knocking down a lamppost.

It came to a standstill on the pavement and just a few feet from a pedestrian crossing. Crowds of people descended on the scene before emergency services arrived, with lifeguards at Playa des Pouet attending the incident first.
