GLENWOOD, WV (WVNS) - The Mercer County Sheriff's Office made an arrest, after a domestic dispute leads to one man's death, according to a press release.

On Saturday, September 6, 2025 deputies received a call of a domestic in progress, and responded to it at a house on Ive Street.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a fight had taken place between two men. Witnesses told the deputies that one of the men, Eric Halsey, 39 years old, grabbed a glass ash tray and struck the victim in the head several times before leaving the scene.

The victim was sent to WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital, later to be pronounced dead.

Deputies later located the suspect and took him into custody.

Halsey was arrested and is being charged with murder. He was then sent to Southern Regional Jail for
