A woman was fatally struck by several vehicles Sunday morning on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Buena Park, possibly after exiting her vehicle, authorities said.

Officers dispatched at about 1 a.m. Sunday to the westbound freeway, just east of Knott Avenue, reported a woman lying in the middle lanes of the freeway and a vehicle on the right shoulder, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

A representative from the Orange County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the location at 1:27 a.m.

All lanes of traffic were opened by 7:30 a.m.
